On Saturday 9 February 2013 the Associazione Culturale Dello Scompiglio presents the collective exhibition titled Incontri (Encounters) and curated by Lorenzo Bruni.
The exhibition project involves eight of the most interesting young contemporary artists linked to the Tuscan region: Francesca Banchelli, Simone Ialongo, Yuki Ichihashi, Jacopo Miliani, Giovanni Ozzola, Moira Ricci, Studio ++ and Eugenia Vanni, addressing the theme of the discovery of landscape and the role of the observer using different forms of expression.
The exhibition titled "Incontri" ("Encounters") is intended to highlight the energies currently present in the region known as Tuscany. The project is not limited to a list of names of young artists more or less worthy of exhibition, but seeks to create optimum conditions to allow the "attitudes" to emerge that unite their research and to establish an interpretative reconnaissance starting from this region. One characteristic of their work is the original relationship that they establish with nature and the concept of natural that leads them to ask about the landscape and how to "tell" or "set-out" a specific experience or idea of it. Another recurring element is the particular attention to the relationship between the observer and the object being observed, which is resolved through a subtle but persistent performative dimension and interaction with the architectural space that forces them towards a radical reflection on the representation of time, demonstrating the various nuances and comparing them: time of the work, time of use, physical time and mental time. These two modes of operation ensure that the works can be read as "interventions" in the reality that is not just an image of the landscape, but rather a narrative around the experience of discovery within it. In fact, only the moment of meeting and the manner in which the "present" is conveyed and not represented, allows the space that is observed, imagined and passed through to enter into an original dialogue that allows the artist/observer to confront questions that have been avoided for too long on the concept of cultural identity of community and on the mechanisms that keep it alive and feed it.
