Ginkgo is the story of a journey into the desperate search for sexual identity, gender and in the world in general.
A rough pathway through childish illusions, temporary conquests and tragicomic failures, and which finds, in one plant, Ginkgo Biloba, un unusual travelling companion with which to discuss and debate in the search for some sort of intimate equilibrium.
From a botanical knowledge of this living survivor of millions of years, in which coexist single and double, male and female, the leaf and its infinite parallel veining, arises a question: if a form of life that seems so inconsistent reveals such great strength and harmony, “is it possible that human contradictions and undefined reality are a flawed weakness? Could they not simply be a symptom of life?”
In a historical moment in which sexual orientation and gender identity are topics on which everyone has an opinion and which have many definitions, Ginkgo is simply an exploration of the possibilities, of the attempts and, why not, the contradictions.
