We are stories contained in twenty centimetres of grey matter located behind the eyes, lines drawn by traces left by our nervous system during its interaction with the things of the world. Memory and our body are the source of our identity. An incredible wealth that makes every individual unique and singular.  Instead, the concept of Interbeing leads us to reflect on how to feel part of a whole in an intertwined system of connections where the things of the universe and of nature, as well as those of our life, are not unique and not even separated between birth, life, and death. Interbeing is a term created by the Buddist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh, to describe this interconnection and interdependence. In order to understand it, we think of flowers and soil. If we plant a seed in an earthenware pot, water it and, as long as there is heat and light after it germinates, a flower will blossom. Observing with partial eyes, we tend to believe that the flower has a separate existence, a separate self. However, if we look more deeply, we will see that the flower does not exist separately from the soil, sunlight, water and air. If we were to eliminate even just one of these elements, it could not exist. Flowers, soil, water, light and air inter-are. After a few weeks, the flower will wither and return to the soil. There is no end and no beginning, no birth and no death.
