Motus - Nella Tempesta

“What happens now” is the question raised at the end of the previous show, “Alexis”.

Constructed using collected materials and not lacking references to the Shakespearian universe, “In The Tempest”, encapsulates much turmoil, many levels of chaos and many more storms, both at an individual level as well as at a systematic one; the economicMacro-tempestin which modern man is immersed, which embodies the hostile relationship between different ethnic groups and the eternal conflict between generations.   Motus try to use the “temporariness” of the staged event to create a differentzone, to create a sort of instant community in which the audience-community also has an active and determining role.

As “political animals”, the performers create on stage an experience of re-appropriation of the spaces, and of themselves, always immersed in the Shakespearean “tempest”, which depicts, not the end of a world, but a new beginning.Motus has chosen to create the “set” ofNella Tempesta using only blankets. A blanket is the first shelter after a shipwreck, a hurricane, or an act of war and is also the easiest object to source and redistribute in any city.In order to accomplish this, the audience is asked to bring along a blanket that will be used to create a “pop-up set” that can be put up and taken down.
