"What does it matter if you’re born in a duck yard, when you are hatched from a swan’s egg?" asks Hans Christian Andersen in his famous fairy tale. It is precisely from this question that the show "Come il brutto anatroccolo" takes its inspiration, bringing to the stage the adventures and the misfortunes of a little duckling, born bigger and more clumsy than his brothers.

Our protagonist, rejected and mocked by the other animals he meets on his way, doesn’t give up and, with courage and tenacity, continues to seek his place in the world. He will grow up and learn to recognise and love what belongs to his nature, like water and flight. He will discover that he is a swan and, for the first time, he will not be afraid but just a little shy. Just like a child when he discovers he is a boy.
