Fàtico is a choreographic and musical project in which singing and dancing beat the tempo of three prayers. On stage two performers equipped with a microphone in direct contact with the skin, an extension of the body, trigger point of the quasi-physical relationship with the spectators, thanks to the instrument provided by the vocal act. Here, singing is not an act of spontaneity, but the product of a modification, integration and strengthening of the encyclopaedia of this corporeity. In the words that mark the time of the choreography, the references to nature and the senses leave room for memories in their mental space before dissolving into the words of worship. Proceeding by connections and collisions between sonic and coreutic matter, a secular discourse on sacredness is composed, asking the audience to let themselves be guided: the phatic listens!
From the director’s notes: “This show is a song, the voice that persists. The refrain murmured in the field when your hands are still dirty from working. Fàtico isn’t just time passing, it’s medicine. The potion that exalts and condemns life. To reinvent lineage and legitimacy. Because there was one step missing. Fàtico is a rope, a prosthesis, an act, that power that cannot be exploited. That distance in which we never touched each other, but almost”.
